✦ THE LEGAL BIT ✦

PRIVACY
POLICY

Last updated: 8 September 2026

The short version: the birthdays you type in never leave your device. We do not have a database of them. We could not show them to anyone if we wanted to, because we never receive them.

1. WHO WE ARE

Combo-Day (“we”, “us”) operates this website. If you have questions about this policy or how your data is handled, contact us at hello@combo-day.com.

Note for the site owner: before going live you must insert your data controller name and a working contact email here. Under UK GDPR you are required to identify the controller. If you are trading as an individual, your own name and email is sufficient.

2. THE BIRTHDAYS YOU ENTER

The calculator runs entirely in your web browser using JavaScript. When you enter names and dates of birth:

  • They are not transmitted to our servers — we do not operate a server that receives them
  • They are not stored in a database, cookie, or local storage
  • They are not shared with any third party
  • They disappear entirely when you close or refresh the page

If you use the “copy the dates” button, the results are placed on your device’s clipboard by your browser. We have no access to your clipboard.

3. INFORMATION WE DO COLLECT

Analytics

We may use privacy-focused website analytics to understand how many people visit and which pages they read. This records aggregate information such as page views, approximate country, browser type and referring website. It does not identify you personally.

Advertising

This site displays advertising in order to cover its running costs. Advertising partners, including Google, may use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads and measure their performance.

Where advertising is personalised, those partners may use information about your visits to this and other websites. You can review Google’s practices at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

Server logs

Our hosting provider records standard technical logs, including IP address and request time, for security and reliability purposes. These are retained by the provider under their own retention policy.

4. COOKIES AND CONSENT

The calculator itself sets no cookies and requires none to function.

If you are in the UK, the European Economic Area or Switzerland, you will be shown a consent banner before any advertising or analytics cookies are set. You may accept, reject, or change your choices at any time through the consent settings link in the banner.

If you reject consent, you will still be able to use the calculator in full. You may see non-personalised advertising instead.

5. YOUR RIGHTS

Under UK GDPR you have rights to access, correct, erase, restrict, and object to the processing of your personal data, and to data portability.

In practice, because we do not collect or store personal information from the calculator, there is generally nothing for us to retrieve or delete. If you believe we hold information about you, contact us and we will respond within one month.

You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.

6. CHILDREN

This site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. The calculator may be used to enter a child’s birthday as part of a family group; as described above, that information is never transmitted to us.

7. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised. Material changes will be highlighted on the site.

Disclaimer: this policy is provided as a starting template and does not constitute legal advice. Before publishing, have it reviewed against your actual analytics and advertising setup — and, if you are unsure of your obligations, take proper legal advice.
